Nintendo Wii launched November 19 with a bang as units sold out across America. Unlike the launch of Playstation 3 Nintendo Wii launched with less craziness due to the fact that more than 4,000 units were available in one location alone. The Toys “R” US in NYC Times Square saw 3,000 anxious games show up for the launch of the event. Those in attendance waited some few days in line to be one many to get their hands on the anticpated gaming system. All across the country stores like Best Buy, EB Games, Wal-mart, etc sold out quickly. Nintendo fans have been waiting for a technology upgrade since 1996 when the Nintendo 64 made its first appearance. Nintendo plans on shipping at least 4 times the amount of game systems compared to Playstation’s PS3. Nintendo is committed to shipping 4 million units by December 31. Where retailers aren’t expected to have units of the PS3 untill after the New Year.
