International lifestyle magazine ‘Vogue’ will launch its Indian edition next year.The magazine, to be based in Mumbai, will be the 17th edition of Vogue worldwide, Jonathan Newhouse, Chairman of publishing house Conde Nast International, said on Monday.  “Unlike most other western publishers, Conde Nast will own and operate its magazines in India rather than publishing through a joint venture or a license. This approach reflects Conde Nast’s deep commitment to the Indian market,” he said.

India is not only one of the fastest-growing business markets in the world, but a sub-continent with a uniquely rich and fascinating culture. To launch the Indian Vogue at this time is an exhilarating assignment,” Nicolas Coleridge, Vice President of Conde Nast International said.

Anna Harvey will be the editorial director of Indian Vogue , while Priya Tanna has been has been appointed editor of the publication.  Arjun Mehra will be the publisher and Meera Kumari the art director. The launch will take place in autumn next year.
