The Turkish government is meeting  today to descuss measures to be taken against terrorism. This is in response to a strong blast  in the capital city, Ankara, on Tuesday.

According to official reports, 6 people were killed and 102 were injured by the explosion that occurred at the Anafartalar shopping mall in the old city center.

Turkish Chief of General Staff Yasar Buyukanit said that the blast was caused by an organized terrorist organization. After visiting the scene he said, “We have to focus on those who are behind this terrorist organization. We have to look at those who feed terrorist organizations. I will not say another word.”

Mr. Buyykanit stopped short of blaming The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which is listed as a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States and the European Union. The PKK has carried out similar attacks against civilians in the past.
