A scientist at the University of Toronto warns that another deadly bird flu pandemic could strike the world any time now. The current H5N1 strain of the bird flu virus shows similarities to the subtype of the H1N1 strain that caused Spanish flu pandemic in the year 1918 and 1919. The only way to overcome this pandemic is to be prepared for it, before it strikes, by building supplies of food, water and medication.


The World Health Organization has been warning that a pandemic might strike the world, ever since 1968, when the last of three bird flu pandemics of the 20th century occurred. Many countries in the world do not have an emergency plan to face a bird flu pandemic and even in United States only 15% of the businesses have an emergency plan to face a pandemic and the case in Canada is much worse with only 4% of the businesses having an emergency plan to face a pandemic, if one strikes.
