I know the strangest darn folks, even worse they introduce me to their friends. My good buddy, author Sam Moffie decided that my life was not complete, I needed to meet Jack N. Young. Throwing caution to the wind, I said OK.
So began a curious, yet delightful friendship. Jack Young is 85 years young. He is, or rather, was, a Hollywood stuntman. If you love westerns from the 50’s and 60’s you have seen Jack Young in action.
Jack has more stories than I can recall. I remember telling him to write a book, I got a stern “NO”. Any book would be written after his death.
I was not about to argue with a man that had been shot at, trampled by horses, months in hospital etc.
Jack has a gem. He shared it with me. A screen play called Sunset At Ironwater Flats. I tried my best with the few Hollywood types I know.
I won’t name names, but I heard the same story, no-one makes westerns anymore. Westerns are done!
Jack Young has a different opinion. And I agree with him. If you really want something, you have to do it yourself. He rounded up some friends and shot a scene from the script.
I love it. It is well framed, well edited, it is a winner!

Im a matchmaker!
I love the way folks appreciate my Dad’s talent, disposition and all around coolness! I’m so proud of his accomplishments and it just keeps going. Why even recently he performed in a skit in his old character, black Jack Young for a reunion of stunt men at old Tucson.
Love ya Dad!
Wow! What else can one ask for, other than a great comment from one’s daughter. Thanks, Mel. I love you so much!
