Both Reuters and CNN are carrying an interesting story from Baghdad. Sudanese officials are claiming that US forces raided their embassy. US government officials are strongly denying this.

According to a Sudanese spokesman, 9 US soldiers forced their way past Sudanese guards into the building, in clear violation of diplomatic procedures.

The embassy itself has been closed for over a year, however Sudan maintains a skeleton staff of security guards.

Sudan is demanding an apology from the US over the incident.

Relations between the two countries have been testy lately with the US maintaining that Sudan is terror friendly. This latest incident if proved true will do little to improve relations.
