A new long term study coming out of New Zealand is stating that children who are disciplined with an occasional open handed smack on the butt, legs or arms will not necessarily grow up with anti-social or aggressive tendencies. The study was conducted by interviewing 1000 subjects who were all born and chosen in 1972-1973 when they were all at the age of 32. The study found that those adults who grew up with an occasional smack were no worse off than those who grew up with any smacks from parents while growing up. The findings of this study will be published later this year.
