Pop legend, 66 year old Sir Cliff Richard has rocked Colombo with a sell out concert. He has received rave reviews in the Sri Lankan newspapers – they noted he gave a slick, professional performance singing 35 tunes in front of a capacity crowd at the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC). The concert was part of Cliff Richard’s “Here and Now” World Tour. Cliff in Concert in Colombo was a presentation of Gold FM in collaboration with DK Promotions.

The British pop icon has been spending sometime on the beaches of Sri Lanka, experiencing the sights and sounds of the island. On Monday 26th February he flies to another exotic destination the Maldives, a group of islands west of Sri Lanka.

Cliff Richard’s concert in Colombo has been hailed as a huge success. Cliff continues to enjoy huge popularity in the Indian sub-continent.

The news article was written by Sri Lanka born writer Ivan Corea who undertook the first ever radio interview with Cliff Richard for Sri Lanka – the interview was broadcast on prime time radio at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) in 1981 and heard across South Asia.
