Red is a colour of warmth, passion, love. Scientists seem to agree that rich red tomatoes have in them the red-pigmented antioxidant lycopene, which may play an important role in reducing risks of many diseases, including cancer.

A Harvard study in the mid-1990s found that men who consumed at least 10 servings of tomato products per week had a 34 percent lower risk of prostate cancer than other men.

Acquiring lycopene can be as simple as smearing ketchup on a sandwich bun or sipping a cup of tomato juice, but there are many ways to boost the antioxidant in your diet.
