Democrats are thought of as the weak party. They are. Democrats worry over the moderate vote too much. Whether Barack Obama; or Hillary Clinton wins the nomination, not much change will ensue. On April 29th, 2008 I lost any respect I had  for Obama when he denounced his former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright. I am well aware that else where this is being applauded.

Some things Obama had to say were: “I am outraged by the comments that were made and saddened over the spectacle that we say yesterday…” Rev. Wright gave, “comfort to those who prey on hate…” Rev. Wright “equates the United States war-time efforts with terrorism, there are no excuses… this rightly offends all Americans.

“It didn’t offend me, I believe he’s absolutely correct. Years of manipulating other countries foreign policy, untold numbers of dead Palestinians by our BFF Israel…’The Bible says, “for what you sow  you also shall reap”. Oh yeah, Obama? I personally do not prey on hate. So, Rev. Wrights assertion of, “You cannot do terrorism on another country and expect it never to come back to you,” rings true. I go a step further and assert that our policies in Iraq and Afghanistan are the definition of terrorism. The media smear campaign on Wright was unfair and un-journalistic (not that true journalism even exists in this country today).

The New York Post was on the forefront of the smear campaign and is one of the most dangerous publications in the country right now, because it is right-wing propaganda cloaked in a facade of liberalism. The stories by Geoff Earle were very damaging and biased. Objectivity is no longer a rule. The fact is, there are more people who are in line with Wright but we never hear about any one in agreement because that would be political suicide. Hopefully we won’t need politicians much longer.

All over this wonderful country organizing is taking place. Every social movement in our history started with a small group of people, be they abolitionists or suffrages, who were also once known as radicals. Politicians do not change policy. Ordinary citizens do. When we band together…amazing  changes take place. This election will most likely change nothing, but with people like Cindy Sheehan running for office…perhaps in a few more years…
