LA Times:
Won’t Release Video of Obama-Khalidi
UPDATES to follow at end of story.
UPDATE #1 -0921 EDT
UPDATE #2 – 0930 EDT
“Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine.”
Remember when the LA Times circulated a memo telling its reporters not to write about John Edwards being caught with his mistress–in LA? [John Edwards-Rielle Hunter Love Child: LA Times Censors Reporters on Story]. The Times refused to inform its readers of the news until Edwards gave the struggling paper his okay by confessing on ABC’s Nightline.
The LA Times is continuing this recent tradition of deciding which news which doesn’t fit its editorial room political views it will allow its readers to see.
However, highly-reliable blogger, Doug Ross has a RED ALERT: Two Quotes from the Obama-Khalidi Video the LA Times won’t release. DBKP worked with Ross on the John Edwards scandal story and he’s proved careful and reliable in the past–both in his use of sources and in his reporting.
From Ross’ usually-reliable LA source:
Saw a clip from the tape. Reason we can’t release it is because statements Obama said to rile audience up during toast. He congratulates Khalidi for his work saying “Israel has no God-given right to occupy Palestine” plus there’s been “genocide against the Palestinian people by Israelis.”
It would be really controversial if it got out. That’s why they will not even let a transcript get out.
To which Ross replies: “Yep, I guess that would do it”
The McCain campaign and conservative websites have called upon the Times to release the video.
The Times has given four different reasons–thus far–for keeping the video hidden from its readers.
Why is the video important? Why might the LA Times be refusing to release it? Why is it politically-inconvenient for the Obama campaign?

Let them know how YOU feel about this.
McCain seems to conveniently forget he has his own and expensive ties to Khalidi which are coming out this AM. Settle down folks, this is merely just another end of campaigning stunt.
Perhaps Joe the Plumber will comment on this ‘development’ too….lol!!!
A highly reliable blogger?
So why wouldn’t the Jewish owner of the L.A. Times not want to get that out?
Why did McCain give Rashidi almost $500,000.
Better yet, call Sam Zell’s–the LA Times owner–office in Chicago and demand release of the tape.
Here’s the info

Is this true…
Then why isn’t McCain using it on some sort of
commercial?
Why isn’t it on TV somewhere?
This is really news?
I am really concerned about censorship in the USA
Why wouldn’t the Jewish owner of the LA Times want it out?
Because the LA Times is a LEFT WING RAG. They’d lose most of their circulation and, ultimately, most of their advertising if they did.
N0bama No Way!
Liar liar media buyer,
Wealth speading was against what Lincoln asked all to do who desired to own land/homes! He told folks to work hard, earn and learn, and buy land/homes of their own!!! Never did he say he’d give anyone anything.
Nobama, has old Abe Lincoln spinning in his grave!
The partial tape comments prove the simple fact that this liar Nobama will say anything to anyone to get where he wants to go, and then he will do anything he wants, not what the country needs!!!
I hate politics.
Besides…When was the last time you heard someone say “I am as honest as any politician out there!”… “I didn’t kill Bambi!”, says the hunter in bright orange with a scoped hunting rifle.
McCain and Palin’s latest charge (that Obama has ties to Khalidi) will not resonate with voters, partially because McCain himself granted $440,000 to Khalidi’s organization in the ’90s.
Do you smell what I smell? It is the putrid stench of McCain’s desperation. I’ll be holding my nose until Nov 4 is past us.
One of the reasons the L.A. Times gave for withholding the tape is that the source asked them not to release it.
Why then did the source provide the tape to the Times in the first place?
A couple of items:
— Sen. McCain seems to have a more intimate relationship with Rashid Khalidi than Sen. Obama through McCain’s International Republican Institute. Money passed hands. Only words passed between Obama and Khalidi. And perhaps a plate of dinner rolls.
— Gov. Palin was a journalism major at one or more of the many colleges she attended over the years. She even worked as a journalist. I guess she forgot that if a journalist burns a confidential source, and the word gets around, that’s the end of future confidential sources ever coming forward. And since the potentially damaging Obama-Khalidi information contained in the tape was reported months ago, claims of an L.A. Times coverup are specious. I guess the governor was busy practicing her beauty queen runway walk when she should have been in a class discussion of the issue.
Oh, well. Tuesday awaits.
The LA Times must have decided the reality of the tape is worse than the perception of what it what we imagine it would reveal. Also that it’s worse than what many of us now think about the LA Times, now held in even lower regard. So whatever is on the tape must be very, very bad if the LA Times won’t even release a transcript.
Personally I would just boycott the LA Times, they will get the message.
Nov. 4th can’t come soon enough. These McCain attacks using guilt by association are frightening, at the very least. McCain and Palin are jumping on anything that can strike the flint of fear in the hearts and minds of Americans and they’re spreading sparks as far as they can by using facts taken out of context and exaggerated to the n-th degree. Anyone with an ounce of critical thinking ability can easily put 20 minutes of research into Ayers or Khalidi and they’re connection with Obama and the only reasonable logical conclusion will be that these accusations by McCain and Palin are ridiculous.
We should all put some time into researching beyond the sound bytes. It’s much more difficult to whip informed groups into a frenzy. We need to remember what happened during McCarthy’s reign of finger pointing madness. History, after all, has a tendency to repeat itself. An informed citizenry is our best tool to fight this.
MrUniteUs: 75% of jews support obama. even when he spits on the state of isreal. yeah, i agree, go figure. talk about voting against your best interest. or even your survival. the poor duped jews.
ladypatriot: you are right. it wont resonate because IT WONT BE REPORTED. duh. due to the censorship of any anti-obama information dear. yes, very scary. i know. look what happens when someone even asks THE (THAT?) ONE a question. joe the plumber gets his personal life ruined, or they attempt to. talk about someone who hates the constitution, that oabama is quite a clown. perhaps evil, probably dumb, definately socialist. but almost a clown-like figure too. like some kind of joke they would create in a sit-com, a characatuer of a egomaniacal demigod opportunist. too funny.
agreed southbuffalo. seems you argue the release of the tape then. HOW CAN WE BE INFORMED IF THE PRESS CENSORS!? why not let the information, all of it, on BOTH sides out, and let the folks decide? or would that perhaps not fit into your grand plans……and therefore you dont really believe in freedom of the press or speach. and sounds like have a pretty infantile regard for regular americans. they just cant handle it, right? cant handle the truth. (we need you on that line eh?) so you must protect us form it. or we might slip up, being dumb as we are. and actually see the truth. pathetic. but funny. the total intelectual bankrupcy, duplicity, illogic on your sides part. peace bro.
mesothelioma…

clarification time….the money mccain’s fund gave to a khalidi group was to to polling of the people on the west bank … he didn’t toast him at dinner mccain didn’t have dinner at khalidi’s home…and he doesn’t have friends like Ayers, Wright , Rzeko, khalidi …just to name a few… if McCain had such friends the media would have their panties all twisted up their butts…but it is obama..so hey close your eyes cnn, msnbc, abc, cbs,
