I’ve said it before and I will say it again – I adore Wallace and Gromit without hesitation in the least.  They first came out when I was five years old and they were the funniest things I have ever seen at that point in my life.  Even now, they are way up there and are definitely still a very cherished memory of mine.  They opened the door in my young mind to British comedies, leading the way to Monty Python, the British Office, The Mighty Boosh and so many others.  Now you can bring home the newest adventure of Wallace and Gromit today!

Starting this September 22nd, now available on DVD from HIT Entertainment and Lionsgate Studios comes the next great animation from some of the funniest and most original minds out there that also just happen to be British.  Wallace & Gromit – A Matter Of Loaf And Death is ready to come sprinting out of your television screen and fill your heart with great joy and some delightful expectations.

Wallace and Gromit are back in their first half hour adventure since 2005 and are ready to make stop-motion animation look great again.  Recently, Wallace and Gromit have opened a new business in town, a bakery called Top Bun.  But Wallace doesn’t just have dough on the mind, he has also managed to fall in love with Piella Bakewell, the former star of the bread commercials for the company Bake-O-Lite.  The only problem with this happy tale is that a vicious murderer is systematically killing all the bakers in town.  Can Gromit catch this Cereal Killer before Wallace bites the big one?

The special features included in this DVD are a look at the making of this film, an optional audio commentary from director Nick Park and editor David McCormick, a Wallace & Gromit Grand Adventure video game demo and a bonus episode of Shaun The Sheep, “Off The Baa!”

Nick Park, the creator of this series, has won an Oscar for his work with Wallace and Gromit.  I can think of few animators who could possibly deserve that honor as much as he does.  The thing about this series is that it is just plain enjoyable.  You don’t have to think, you don’t have to catch any references, you can just sit there and enjoyable approachable humor.  The best part is that this isn’t going to make you dumber, because it’s aimed at a broad spectrum, not at the lowest common denominator.  This particular adventure is totally hilarious and it’s good to see a new human face in these stories.  I can only hope that the first new tale in four years means that we can be able to expect many more in the years to come.  Bring it home today and you will fall in love all over again.

Nothing else Matters besides getting this DVD as fast as you can.
