I’m not a huge fan of fruit smoothies.  They seem like such a “gotcha” food.  You want something sweet and maybe a little bit bad for you.  But then you take that first drink and it’s fruity and healthy.  That’s just disgusting.  It’s like when you bite into a candy expecting M&Ms, but what you end up getting are Skittles.  It like wanting bacon and only being able to find turkey bacon.  But now there’s a movie that deals with the issues of smoothies and it’s ready for you to bring home today!

Starting this September 15th, now available on DVD from American Greetings Corporation and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment comes the latest full-length adventure from the life of everyone’s favorite character named after a desert.  The Strawberry Shortcake Movie – Sky’s The Limit is ready to come swirling out of your television screen and fill your living room with sugary sweet tales of friendship and welcome discovery.  Bring home this great girl-friendly movie today!

It’s just another normal day in Berry Bitty City and Strawberry Shortcake and some of her friends are just lounging around her café working on a brand new smoothie recipe that is going to the best thing around.  Then a rogue storm hits Berry Bitty City and puts their entire water supply in danger.  Now it’s up to none other than Strawberry Shortcake and all of her friends to work together and figure out a way to restore the flow of water.  Along the way, they will learn all about teamwork and the importance of having great friends.

The special features included in this DVD are a sing-along music video to one of the songs in the movie and some coloring pages you can print out using your DVD-ROM.

I cannot think of another series that is a colorful and just plain joyful as Strawberry Shortcake.  The CGI is brilliant and makes Berry Bitty City look like one of the most wonderful places you could ever imagine.  Of course, having to write it out as your return address would be a little bit of a pain after a while.  This particular film is great because it isn’t a collection of unrelated episodes, it is all one cohesive feature length movie.  It does teach very good lessons about being different and working together and what being a good friend is all about.  Those are things that our children can always stand to learn or relearn.

Take a second slice of this Strawberry Shortcake today!
