The Last Kiss [Blu-ray]

One of my favorite experiences is reading books that I didn’t like as a child, only to discover that they are fantastic.  I loathed Catcher In The Rye the first time I read, but now it’s one of my favorite books.  A few months ago, I also discovered that this could be done with movies and a few films moved up in my internal rankings.  This is one of those movies and now it’s ready in a whole new format!

Starting this April 14th, now available on Blu-ray disc from Lakeshore Entertainment and DreamWorks Home Entertainment comes another great story about growing up and becoming a real adult.  The Last Kiss – Blu-ray Disc is ready to party right out of your television screen and bring that irrepressible feeling of losing your freedom and finally become old into your living room.  Bring home this fantastic and touching movie today!

Michael is turning thirty years old and stands on the brink of marriage.  Most of his friends have moved into great careers and happy home lives, with a couple of painful exceptions.  Yet Michael still feels ill at ease with this new future of his and then he meets a gorgeous young woman who refuses to be tied down.  As he struggles with doubt and temptation, he faces the twin specters of his past and his future.  Will Michael be able to put it all back together before anyone gets hurt?  This movie stars Zach Braff, Rachel Bilson, Jacinda Barett, Casey Affleck, Blythe Danner, Tom Wilkinson, Michael Weston, Eric Christian Olsen and Harold Ramis.

The special features included in this Blu-ray are an available commentary from Zach Braff, Jacinda Barrett and Rachel Bilson, some great deleted scenes, a Cary Brothers music video directed by Zach Braff, a hilarious blooper reel, a behind the scenes look at the movie and a whole lot more.

I watched this movie back when it first came out and I hated it.  It didn’t make sense, it was overly dramatic, it simply failed to connect with me.  But rewatching it, now that I’m out of college and growing up is far more important, I was shocked by how fantastic this movie was and how much I loved it.  Zach Braff is fantastic in this movie.  I always thought he couldn’t improve on Garden State, but after seeing this movie again, I rewatched that and found it lacking.  This is now his best film so far and it’s a far more accurate picture of life.  It is hilarious and painful at the same time, especially because so many things are constantly messing with your mind as you move towards creating a stable life for yourself.  It was great to watch it in high definition and I’m sure you will enjoy it too.

Although youth fades, this great movie will Last.
