Remix [Blu-ray]

Having additional features when it comes to one of your favorite movies only makes the experience that much greater.  That’s why I love the Criterion Collection releases of all the Wes Anderson films.  The movies are magnificent no matter what, but having the collectible booklet and all of the special featurettes only create a whole new sense of wonder.  Now there’s a movie that is more aimed towards children and tweens which comes loaded with special features and it’s available in a whole new format.

Starting this February 17th, now available on Blu-ray disc from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment comes the definitive edition of the movie that started a craze about high school and musicals.  High School Musical – Remix – Blu-ray Disc is ready to come screaming out of your HDTV screen and bring a whole fantastic world of music and special features into your living room.  Bring home this great expansion of an already fantastic movie!

Start back at the beginning, when we were all just becoming Wildcats from East High for the first time.  See Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Chad, Ryan and Taylor back at the beginning of when we were just getting to know them and their musical adventures.

I know that Blu-ray discs can hold a whole lot more information that DVDs, but this is simply ridiculous.  Here’s what included in this Blu-ray disc – a making of featurette about the movie, four vignettes about the choreography and learning the moves, a reunion of the characters, the Hollywood premiere of this film, a bunch of dance-alongs, a way to sing along with the movie and five music videos.

This overwhelming amount of special features makes this film even greater than it was before.  Not to mention the fact that it practically sparkles in high definition.  It is a little strange to see all those kids back when they were so much younger, but this film remains just as captivating as it was back when it first came out.  I must admit that when South Park spoofed this movie, that was one of the funniest episodes of that show to come out in the last few years.  Although this movie is prone to hilarious mockery, it is still wonderful and if you loved the original, you’ll really love this remix.

This Remix improves on the original.
