Making a sequel to a movie is one thing, but to make a third movie, that means you have now decided that the characters and stories in the first two movies were worth creating a franchise around them.  There are of the course the examples of a story that was written to have more than two parts – the Star Wars universe and the Lord Of The Rings series immediately come to mind.  But making a franchise is a commitment to your villains and/or heroes and it’s something they will have to live with, because all series decrease in quality very rapidly once the third movie comes out.  Now this movie is available for you in a brand new format and three terrifying dimensions!

Starting this June 16th, now available on Blu-ray Disc from Paramount Studios Home Entertainment comes the sequel about one of the most horrifying and evil movie slashers who has finally left Camp Blood and set out to terrorize the surrounding areas.  Friday The 13th – Part 3 – In 3-D! – Blu-ray Disc is ready to slash right through your television screen and bring a world of cutting and stabbing and lots and lots of bleeding into your living room.  Bring home this great movie in high definition and three dimensions today!

The events of the second movie took place the day before this movie happens.  Jason has, obviously, survived and is starting on yet another killing spree.  Once again there are a whole bunch of young and morally lax college girls and their douchebag boyfriends.  Some of them hook up, some of them get drunk, some of them get high and Jason takes his revenge on nearly every single one of them.  Who will survive?  Find out now – in three dimensions!  This movie stars Dana Kimmell, Paul Kratka, Tracie Savage, Jeffrey Rogers, Catherine Parks and Richard Brooker and was directed by Steve Miner.

The special features included in this Blu-ray Disc are, most importantly, the fact that this movie is in 3-D and comes with two pairs of 3-D glasses, a look at the process of putting this in three dimensions, some more lost tales from Camp Blood, a featurette about the mask of Jason and what it would all come to mean, a look at slasher films and what they set out to accomplish and the original theatrical trailer.

Why should you watch this movie?  First of all, it’s in high definition and that always makes a movie well worth watching.  Most of all – it’s in 3-D!  3-D movies are one of the greatest innovations that were made in the eighties.  The best part is all the things that were thrown around and had nothing to do with the plot of the movie at all.  Would Jason have really thrown that many implements around if he didn’t know that they would come flying out of the screen?  A slasher film is cheesy enough, but when you decide to add in blue and red glasses, it hits a whole new level of cultural kitsch.  But hey, that’s what makes it great.  Now you can watch it for yourself and see exactly what I mean.  In 3-D!

This is one Friday you won’t forget!
