Comedy Central Salutes George W. Bush

I woke up at six this morning to go vote.  I got to the polls early, registered with my passport and voted for all the important races in my nation, state, town and precinct.  It was a fantastic experience and I’d been waiting to cast that specific vote for over two years.  The polls were packed and I was just barely able to make it to work, but as I sat at my desk and had my breakfast of yoghurt, a peanut butter crunch Clif bar (the best kind) and an apple, it was so worth it.  A terrible era is ending and a great DVD is out to celebrate that fact.

Starting this October 28th, now available on DVD from Comedy Central DVD and Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment comes the tribute we’ve all been praying would just hurry up and get here.  Comedy Central Salutes George W. Bush because he is ready to finally get the hell out of the White House and let someone else try and dig us out of this massive hole.  Bring home this well overdue DVD today!

This disc contains some pivotal episodes and mentions of 43 himself on Comedy Central.  We see episodes from the short-lived Matt and Trey epic, That’s My Bush, some great episodes of South Park and God’s favorite president, and some fantastic episodes of Lil’ Bush.  And there’s a whole lot more than that too, but I don’t want to ruin it for anyone.

As far as special features go, this disc contains a whopper.  A commemorative poster is included with the DVD and it’s a fantastic one.  It’s got G Dub holding a calendar with that holiest of all dates, January 20th, 2009, circled in red.  The “Mission Accomplished” banner is flying high, there’s a box of unused Iraq intel, some stolen Florida ballots from 2000, an homage to his Trek bike with the presidential seal on it, some pretzels, “The Decider,” that infamous “My Pet Goat” book, a cheerleading uniform, a fighter pilot suit and a signed picture from Karl Rove.  It’s every single Bush joke in one place and it’s cathartically delightful.

How could someone not love this DVD?  It’s dedicated to the fact that the train wreck this country has woken up in the midst of every single day for the last eight years is finally leaving public office.  I will miss Bush, because he gave everyone great amounts of material for mockery.  Not only that, but every single year, about 15-20 fantastic anti-Bush books came out and they were the greatest.  I’m going to miss that.  And nothing else.  Ever.

Give our greatest president ever one last Salute!
