My dad once interviewed someone who he said reminded him exactly of Chris Farley.  Although I didn’t get to meet this engineering candidate, I have heard the stories about him and they are some of the funniest my dad has ever told me.  I couldn’t imagine actually meeting someone who acted that way in real life.  Well, now you can imagine what that would be like and you can do it in a brand new format.

Starting this May 12th, now available on Blu-ray Disc from Paramount Studios Home Entertainment comes a Lorne Michaels production about well meaning buffoons and slackers who always end up with them from the comedy duo of the 1990s.  Black Sheep – Blu-ray Disc is ready to stumble right out of your television screen and bring you a whole pile of hilarious pratfalls, sarcastic humor and just good, plain fun.  Bring home this comedy classic in a whole new format today!

Al Donnelly is running to be elected the governor of Washington State and everything is going pretty well.  Everything, that is, except for his younger brother Mike Donnelly.  Mike is bumbling, clumsy, accident prone and wholly dedicated to do everything he can to get his brother elected.  He takes potential votes and turns the whole situation into one embarrassing mess after another.  Al gets his severely under-motivated campaign aide Steve Dodds to look after Mike and things look like they’re clearing up for a while.  Then Mike discovers that the guy Al is running against is a crook and things start to get real messy, real fast.  This movie stars Chris Farley, David Spade, Tim Matheson, Christine Ebersole and Gary Busey and was produced by Lorne Michaels.

This Blu-ray disc does not contain any special features, other than the fact that it is in stunning high definition.  That’s certainly nothing to turn your nose up at, but they could have put so much more into the extras.  Chris Farley, one of the best comic minds of my childhood, is dead.  What kind of a remembrance of him is this if we don’t even put any special features with his movies when they make it on to Blu-ray?

Let’s think about this for a second – you have a Blu-ray player.  Why in the world would you not want to buy a movie that brings together David Spade and Chris Farley?  They are one of the best comedy duos of all time and neither of them shone so brightly as when they were together.  Gary Busey also drops in to provide some hilarity, back when he could actually be funny and was not just funny because he had a traumatic brain injury that left him completely disconnected from the world.  This movie isn’t as great as Tommy Boy, but you can’t hit comic gold every single time.  This is comic silver and that’s good enough for me.  Don’t act like a snob, you know you like it too.

Don’t beat yourself Black and Blu, bring home this hilarious film in high definition today!
