Bedtime Stories (Plus Standard DVD + Digital Copy) [Blu-ray]

I read every night before I go to sleep.  It’s some sort of holdover from my childhood when I used to be told stories and then moved on to tell stories.  That was one of my favorite parts of being a camp counselor, reading to those crazy kids at the end of the night.  I would always choose a boring story or book because it would end up putting them to sleep right away.  Now there’s a movie that, sadly, will do much of the same thing to you and it’s ready for you now!

Starting this April 5th, now available in a 3-Disc Special Edition from Happy Madison Productions and Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment comes a film about what happens when magical stories begin to come true.  Bedtime Stories – 3-Disc Special Edition is ready to come screeching out of your television screen and transport you to a fantastic and wonderful world of magical possibilities.  Bring home this new Adam Sandler movie today!

Skeeter Bronson is a funny yet lonely guy who ends up often babysitting his sister’s two kids and their guinea pig with huge eyes.  In order to get them to sleep, he tells them story after crazy story.  Skeeter is the hero in every story.  Then something strange happens – the stories begin coming true in real life.  How crazy will these adventures get?  Will the kids end up misusing their powers?  Will Skeeter ever find love?  Are there are jokes in this movie?  All these questions, and many more, will be answered in time.  This movie stars Adam Sandler, Keri Russell, Guy Pierce, Russell Brand, Richard Griffiths, Jonathan Pryce, Courtney Cox, Lucy Lawless and Teresa Palmer.

This 3-Disc Special Edition consists of a Blu-ray disc with the movie and special features, a DVD of the movie and a digital copy to put on your portable media devices.  The special features include a great selection of deleted scenes and hilarious bloopers, a featurette which will help you get to know the large eyed guinea pig and a great look behind the scenes at all the special effects.

I saw Adam Sandler talking about this movie on some late night talk show.  He was saying that the majority of his movies are ones that he doesn’t feel comfortable letting his children watch, so he set out to make one that he would to take them to.  That’s certainly an admirable sentiment, but this movie ended up turning out horribly.  Sandler still remains a comic genius, but there honestly weren’t any jokes in this movie.  I wasn’t expecting this to be as funny as a Judd Apatow movie – I knew this was a kid’s movie from the beginning.  But it’s Adam Sandler, it should still be funny.  I kept waiting for the jokes, I kept waiting for the hilarity, yet there was nothing.  Maybe Sandler should just stick with his kids having to watch someone else.  Give your kids that advice as well and avoid this movie.

These Stories disappoint.
