This show is one of my mother’s favorites.  She has a lot of favorite television shows, but there is usually something wrong with them that keeps them from being her true favorite.  There might be too much violence or too much sex or too much swearing.  Those facts put her favorites and my favorites into completely different worlds, but that’s fine.  But there is one show which connects her desire for action and a compelling story with the emotionally satisfying stuff that women need.  Now the second season of that show is ready for you to bring home today!

Starting this June 2nd, now available as a five disc boxed set from Lifetime Television, ABC Studios and Buena Vista Studios Home Entertainment comes the second season of the successful and emotionally involving of the television show about the men in the army and their wives.  Army Wives – The Complete Second Season is ready to roll right out of your television screen and bring this show that will move you deeply right into your living room.  Bring home this fantastic second season of television today!

It’s time for the second season of this show about the lives of men in the Army and the people who are in their lives, particularly their wives.  They all live in and around Fort Marshall in Charleston, South Carolina.  Of course, it’s a fictitious army base, although the show itself is based around a book about the lives of Army wives.  Although at this point, they have gone past most of what’s in the book, so it’s more continuation than something out of a book any longer.  Stuff gets even crazier this season, although it takes a lot to top a daughter having a pregnancy scare and then getting blown in the season finale last year.  This season is far better than the first one and you can see why today!  This television series stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, Catherine Bell, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis and Drew Fuller and is on Lifetime Channel.

The special features included in this five disc boxed set are a selection of bloopers, a great collection of deleted scenes, a look at what the cast of this show did to give back, a look at the men of the show, a featurette about how the show receives support from the Army for what they do and a great look behind the scenes as far as how the television series is made.

This is one of my mother’s favorite shows, as I’ve said before.  It is a good show and it’s certainly worth watching, especially when compared with most of the other shows that are on Lifetime Channel.  It has important lessons about family dynamics and loyalty and it’s all about the military, which is a pretty hot topic these days, thanks to the Bush Administration spilling their blood all over the place.  But, in all seriousness, if you want a more sober minded drama that is fitting for the whole family, or at least most of it, or at least conservative people who find much offensive, this is the perfect show for that.

Bring home Army Wives today!
