Arctic Tale [Blu-ray]

I like science documentary movies about the outdoors.  I love them.  Maybe they remind me of elementary school or all the Ranger Rick magazines I read as a kid (they were so old that they talked about how dangerous DDT was and who Rachel Carson was).  Or maybe they’re just plain awesome.  Now there’s a great new one and it’s ready for you right now on a whole new format!

Starting this April 21st, now available on Blu-ray Disc from National Geographic Films and Paramount Studios Home Entertainment comes the timely tale of life in the Artic that is quickly disappearing.  Arctic Tale – Blu-ray Disc is ready to come swimming right out of your television screen and splash around in your living room.  Bring home this great and exciting family friendly film today!

Narrated by Queen Latifah, this film takes a look at the lives of two very different creatures of the arctic.  Since it’s from the people who brought you The March Of The Penguins, you know it’s going to be a great real life adventure.  Nanu is a polar bear cub and Seela is a walrus pup and, although they are enemies of a sort, they both face the same enemies as they struggle to survive in their harsh environments.  Guided by their mothers, they learn and work hard to stay alive even as the place they know as home is melting away forever.

The special features included in this Blu-ray Disc are a featurette about the making of this film, the original theatrical trailer and a great world adventure story about spotting polar bears in the wild.

This was a great movie.  I didn’t get a chance to see it in theaters, but I certainly enjoyed it on DVD.  Now that it’s on Blu-ray, it’s truly remarkable.  It’s a compelling story and since it’s about the great dangers of global warming, it’s very timely and highly important that we learn the lessons of this movie.  Also, Queen Latifah does a great job in the narration of this movie, although it is a little strange to hear her voice in this educational setting.  It would be like switching on an episode of Nova and hearing it narrated by Rob Dyrdek.  It’s not something I go into it expecting.  All in all, this is a spectacular cinematic experience and it’s something the whole family will enjoy.

Tell this Tale to the whole family!
