Imagine knowing when you were going to die.  I think it would make life too stressful, because there is the greatest deadline possible looming and so much stuff to try and fit in.  It would detract from our ability to sit back, to relax, to simply waste a day just being alive.  Kurt Vonnegut says that we here on Earth to fart around and we shouldn’t let anyone tell us any different.  I like that, but now you can see a story about someone who doesn’t exactly agree in a brand new format.

Starting this December 30th, now available on Blu-ray from Paramount Studios Home Entertainment comes the tale of someone who is determined to make every last day count because one of them will soon be the last.  Last Holiday – Blu-ray Disc is ready to leap out of your television screen and take you for a ride that will remind to make each day count.  Bring home this uplifting and inspirational film today!

Georgia Byrd makes her living selling cookware in New Orleans and she’s terribly shy.  So when she learns that she has only one month left to live, it’s time to throw off all restraint and go and do everything she has always dreamed of.  She travels, she jumps out of planes, she eats what she wants to and maybe she even falls in love.  But how will everything end?  This film stars Queen Latifah, LL Cool J, Timothy Hutton, Gerard Depardieu, Alicia Witt and Giancarlo Esposito.

The special features included in this Blu-ray presentation are a look at the making of this film, some great looks at what things were really like behind the scenes, a featurette about the process of writing this film and getting these ideas, a selection of deleted scenes and the original theatrical trailer in high definition.

I think film takes a surprisingly serious look at a very complex and compelling situation.  How would our lives be different if we believed we actually had something to live for instead of simply just trying to survive.  This is a feel good movie with a great message and it does a great job at it.  Not to mention, it’s always humorous to watch LL Cool J try to act, so it’s worth it simply for that.  Also, Gerard Depardieu is in this movie.  I didn’t even know he was still alive.  That’s a double treat!  This movie looks great in high definition and all the new special features are wonderful.  Get this movie if you want to feel good for a little bit.

Take a needed Holiday with this quality film.
