Illinois State Police have started a manhunt for a man, they believe to be armed and dangerous. They consider this man to be a person of interest in the homicide cases of at least five people. They are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the man.

The bodies of two men, a woman and a child were discovered in an apartment on June 30 in Rock Falls, Illinois, when an investigation was being held for a welfare check. After more investigations police discovered that one of those victims’ ties in with the suspect, Nicolas Sheley, in the beating death of Russell Reed, a 93 year old man from Sterling Illinois. They put the man’s body in the truck of a car where he was later found.

Investigators are looking into the possibility of a string of other killings being related to this case also. In Galesburg, Illinois on Monday they found a man dead and the body of another man and woman behind a gas station in Festus, Mo.
They think Sheley was last seen in the Collinsville Illinois area late Monday night and he may be driving a red 1999 jeep that was reported stolen. Collinsville police Sgt. Rich Wittenauer said police had searched an apartment building in Collinsville but didn’t find him Tuesday morning. Sheley is described as a white man, about 5’11” and weighs about 165 pounds. He has blonde hair and green eyes.
The police want to warn the public not to approach Sheley if they spot him. They are asking that you call the tips hotline, 1-866-219-8333 or Crimestoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS (1-866-371-8477) or Festus Police at 636-937-3646 if you have any information on where the police can find him.
