What did democratic senator John Kerry exactly mean? That is the talking point in the country right now.

Senator Kerry has an unfortunate history of making rash comments which he is always unable to explain later simply because they are inexplicable. In the heat of campaign season he ends up telling college students that they should either study hard and do their homeworks or get stuck in Iraq.

Republicans have blasted him for the suggestion that men and women in the US army were there because they were uneducated and had no other career option because of their academic incompetence.Kerry’s comment did not sit well even with leading members of his own party. A number of top Democrats told CNN they were upset with the senator for giving the Republicans election-time ammunition.Caught in the firestorm of criticism, Kerry has taken a stance which thoroughly counter charges his critics for misrepresenting his comments, which , he said, were meant to criticise President Bush’s Iraq policy rather than the American soldiers.

A Kerry aide told CNN that the prepared statement, which had been designed to criticize President Bush, “was mangled in delivery.” Kerry was supposed to say, “I can’t overstress the importance of a great education. Do you know where you end up if you don’t study, if you aren’t smart, if you’re intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq.”

While President Bush demanded that Kerry owed the American troops an apology, kerry has defiantly shot back that it was Bush and Cheney who owed the troops an apology fo rhaving misled them into a prolonged war.
