bieberEarlier this month it was announced that a plea deal would be offered to young Justin Bieber on the charges he has against him in Florida.

The Florida State Attorney decided he would offer Bieber a plea bargain saying they would drop the DUI and resisting arrest charges if he will agree to certain stipulations. He would have to agree to:

1.    Plead no contest to reckless driving
2.    Complete 40 hours of community service
3.    Attend an alcohol education course
4.    Attend a “victim impact panel” (where relatives of DUI victims share their stories)
5.    Install an ignition interlock device for 4 months

Well according to Bieber and his legal guys say they will reject the plea deal on his DUI charges mostly because he doesn’t want random drug testing. . They also say he will not accept any plea deal that has probation where the judge can throw the book at him if he screws up.

Well we are talking about Justin Beiber here and he has made it public knowledge that he does have a problem with weed and sizzurp  (a drink made by combining soda, candy and prescription cough syrup with codeine in it,and it can be deadly), so of course he doesn’t want to have to submit to random drug testing. He also doesn’t want to accept having to take an alcohol ed course as past of a plea deal because he would become a spectacle. But yet he claims he is open to a plea deal, just not the one that he was offered.

I feel like this kid is publicly saying he is not going to quit the drugs because he doesn’t want to. If they let him get away with this, what kind of message is this sending to other Americans that break the law like Bieber has? Are we saying it is “OK” just because you are a famous person? I personally think they should make him do time and I mean time “without” special privileges just because he is a pop singer.

Justin Bieber was in the news this morning in a totally different way this time. Apparently a radio station in Atlanta, Rock 100.5, has a show called “The Regular Guys.” Well they came up with a good story about a neighborhood group called the Buckhead Neighborhood Coalition. They were claiming that this group was protesting against Bieber moving into their neighborhood in Atlanta.

This news got the news media such as BBC, CNN and other news outlets all over trying to get the scoop on the protest. According to host, Larry Wachs, he said the @theregularguys show got 33 international media outlets including TMZ to generate 45,000 plus news stories. Another host, Tim Andrews played the part of a man named Harry White when he did an interview with CNN.

“We’re concerned, he’ll bring the wrong type of element into a quiet, residential area,” he said over the weekend. “It is our position that a person with his means could certainly find a neighborhood more suited to his eclectic lifestyle.”

Andrews wife even got involved by creating a FaceBook page and stating on the age, “Justin Bieber’s relocation to Atlanta can be nothing but bad for our children, as well as the community. Some can’t even let their children play in the driveway without fear; he has raced vehicles under the influence, before. What’s to say he won’t do it again?”

The funny part is the whole thing was a hoax and all the news media fell for it. It was an orchestrated hoax that was very well done and the guys from the show, “The Regular Guys” are very happy with the results they got from it. They call it a huge win, but I am sure that some of the mainstream media that fell for it don’t feel the same..

Oh well that is how it goes. I have to admit, I might have fallen for it too. After all it does sound to me like something someone would do if they knew this guy was moving into their neighborhood. Who would want to risk their home being egged by none other than the “Biebs” himself?
