Once again it took no time at all to realize how little I knew on the subject. On the program we were joined by John Houck and Danea Shelby.

Women played several vital roles in the war. Yes some traveled with their men in a support role, cooking, cleaning, mending clothes, and support of the wounded.

However there were more unusual roles. Some women signed up duty, changing their appearance to be more masculine. Danea  has some very interesting and sometimes amusing stories.

The other role played by women was being the Fem Fatale. Both sides used women to act as spies.
