This just in from TJ Hart, it looks like there are heading down the dreaded NPO road. It will be interesting to see where this leads – Jan Barrett

Six-year-old Haleigh Cummings has been missing since she disappeared from her Satsuma, Florida home on February 9, 2009. The last person to see her was her babysitter Misty Croslin-Cummings, who then became her stepmother and will soon become her father’s ex-wife.

According to Terry Shoemaker, the attorney representing Haleigh’s father Ronald Cummings, he believes the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is doing an excellent job following leads and tips, but a fresh set of eyes may aid the investigation.
Shoemaker told, “What we’d like to do is hire an independent private investigator that would allow them to look into some different areas, check down some different stories that have come in and possibly lead the investigation in another direction.”

Shoemaker is now investigating ways to set up a non-profit organization. He says its purpose would be to 1) help get the word out about Haleigh’s disappearance, and 2) serve as a way to gather funds to pay the private investigator.
