Toxicologists say that, environmental and green groups are misleading public with their chemical contamination campaigns, which are designed to frighten people. They have come down heavily on a campaign organized by WWF, which focused on the presence of chemicals in blood, food and baby’s umbilical cords. Scientists said that WWF was trying to blow-up the entire issue, as traces of chemicals found in blood and food do not pose much of a health risk. However, WWF has denied these allegations, saying that, it was not trying to frighten anybody with its campaign.


Many scientists have opined that it is essential to monitor the levels of chemicals in food and in the body and to phase-out the use of those, which pose significant health risk. But, they feel that green groups and WWF are trying to trying to take advantage of the public’s fear, in their campaigns.
