It’s hard to be optimistic and to be in the Holiday spirit when not a day goes by without more bad economic news.  The unemployment rate is up, the stock market is down, and experts say we are officially in a recession – it only took them a year to figure that out – and in the meantime the new president claims, “it will get worse before it gets better.”

I love this time of year and I don’t want to be depressed by all the doom and gloom.  So with that thought in mind I set out to find some positive economic news.  Here are some of the positive news items that I found:

The new Chevy Volt will get 40 miles on a single charge and will cost you only $40,000, and for just $50,000 extra you can get a flatbed trailer and truck to haul it around.

If you are unemployed – not to worry, the government will be hiring light bulb changers.
You can bet all pension and medical benefits will be included in this highly technical job.

How about a lucrative construction job?  Countless unemployed will be needed to build bike paths and to install electrical outlets every 40 miles across this great nation, and if you rush down to Texas you might be able to build a windmill or two.

Maybe you are interested in politics.  How about Governor of Illinois or Senator?  For the right price you can buy anything in this country.

Are you starting to get in the Christmas spirit?

Well there is one sector of the economy that is going gang busters right now.  And, thanks to the encouragement of the new president this industry has been booming.  His message of Hope and Change has resounded clearly in the hearts and minds of those that make up this sector of the economy.  Clearly; the American public has heard their new president, and are making a sacrifice to bolster this ailing economy.

All across the country, gun dealers are reporting record sales.  In fact sales have been so brisk that a shortage of some items has been reported.  It has been said that Americans are concerned about their new president’s view of the 2nd Amendment, and it is felt that he would move undermine a citizen’s right to keep and bare arms.  Is this the reason why so many are buying guns and stocking up on ammunition?   Of coarse not – surely we can trust a man that has come out of the political machine of Chicago, where Richard Daley and Rod Blagojevich are counted as close friends and advisor’s.

Have a Merry Christmas; support the economy, Buy a Gun.

It’s the American thing to do.
