Another Tolkien character has entered into history.

Spanish scientists have named an insect living in Catelleon caves “Gallumjapyx Smeagol”. Like Gollum, it is pale and slimy. Unlike him, it has six feet and long antennae and measures 2 cm (less than one inch) in length.
Traditionally, subterranean species receive mythological names.
