According to a recent report forty six firms have been named as defendants in a recently filed asbestos related lawsuit, which was filed by the victim of asbestos related disease and his wife. Tommy Davis and his wife Jacqueline claim that the defendants were responsible for Tommy contracting an asbestos related disease.

The lawsuit was filed in Jefferson County District Court earlier this week, and claims that the forty six defendants, including AW Chesterton, conspired to mine and sell asbestos products, and kept information relating to the dangers of asbestos exposure from employees, thus purposely inflicting them with an asbestos related disease. Exposure to airborne asbestos dust and fibers can result in a range of health problems, including the deadly asbestos related cancer known as mesothelioma.

The lawsuit states: “Defendants knowingly conspired among themselves to cause defendant’s injuries, diseases, and illness and/or death by exposing him to asbestos. Defendants committed conspiracy by willfully misrepresenting and suppressing the truth as to the risks and dangers associated with asbestos.”

Among the things that the Davis ‘ are suing for are Tommy’s pain and suffering, both present and future, his loss of earning ability, past and future financial losses, medical expenses, homecare costs, and mental anguish caused to him.
