Normally when you hear about alien invaders or an alien race visiting the planet for one reason or another, you dismiss the claims as those from someone who hasn’t been in the sun recently or you give it idle thought and then move on with your life. But what if those claims were coming from a top government official? Would you start to pay more attention then?

Earlier this week, the former member of England’s Ministry of Defense (MoD), Nick Pope, decided to step down from his post and speak out about his worries that highly credible sightings of alien aircraft within our skies are being dismissed and that “The consequences of getting this one wrong could be huge.”

Pope is not some crack pot scientist either as his resume includes the title of head of the UFO project between 1991 and 1994. With access to classified information, he began to slowly come around on his beliefs that alien life exists and could visit the planet at some point in the future. He insists that there is no proof of hostile intentions from alien visitors but also says that this is not something that can be ruled out. “If you believe these things are extra terrestrial craft then you cannot rule out that what is happening is some kind of covert reconnaissance.”

Pope is not giving up though and has decided that he is going to continue his research into extra terrestrial life in a private capacity which will follow up his four books dealing with alien life and his experiences with the UFO department at the MoD.
