A recent report has shown how the fallout from a fire in the UK is being monitored for fear of asbestos contamination after it was discovered that there was asbestos present at the scene, and that this could result in asbestos contamination. Reports allege that asbestos based materials were found at the scene of the fire.

According to health experts a number of experts have been asked to attend the scene in order to assess the situation and determine the potential dangers in relation to asbestos, which is a deadly carcinogenic that can result in a range of health problems including a form of cancer known as mesothelioma.

The fire took place in part of London in the UK, and in the meantime residents in and around the area have been warned by officials that windows should be kept close, and those suffering from respiratory problems were also warned to stay indoors.

One official stated: “It depends a lot on weather conditions whether the smoke comes down to ground level. We are going to keep a close eye on it for the near future. In some case like Buncefield we didn’t see a lot of pollution because it stayed up high in the atmosphere. With this one we’re not sure, it’s quite hard to predict.”
