Kevin Federline counter-filed court papers Wednesday for sole custody of his and his pop princess’ wife Britney Spear’s two children.

Federline also filed for spousal support. He stated that their community assets are “uncertain” despite Spears claims in their divorce papers that a prenuptial agreement was strictly in place.
Spears, 24, and Federline, 28, have a 1-year-old son, Sean Preston, and an infant son, Jayden James, who was born Sept. 12. Spears seeks custody of both children.

“Kevin is prepared to go the distance in order to do what he feels is necessary to protect and safeguard the children and will not be intimidated or dissuaded from pursuit of those goals,” said Michael Sands, spokesman for Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan.

Spears cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.

Spears married the former backup dancer, Federline, in the fall of 2004. They had a ceremony in September, but court papers revealed that the couple were officially married October 6 that same year.

It was the second wedding in a year for Spears, whose 55-hour spur-of-the-moment marriage to childhood friend Jason Alexander ended in annulment. It was the first for Federline who was then dating his very pregnant girlfriend before Spears.
