So what do you listen to at 6am? Me, I don’t think you can go far wrong with a good dose of extreme metal. Somehow it just shakes the cobwebs out of the brain, of course it doesn’t do much to foster good relations with your neighbors, but you can’t have everything.

Immortalised contains 20 music videos showcasing some of the metal bands that recorded with Earache  Records between 1986 and 2000.

While I doubt that many of these music videos got much play on MTV or VH1 they are for the most part extremely well done. Metal as a genre, and metal as a visual medium tends to be a little repetitive, you have a bunch of head bangers wailing on instruments while some guy who has had the ‘satanic vocal chord implant’ screams obscenities. The addition of some creative visuals though make the whole experience a lot different, and add a completely new dimension.

On the DVD are music videos from Pitchshifter, At The Gates, Sleep, Brutal Truth, Iron Monkey, Bolt Thrower, Carcass, Napalm Death, Cathedral etc. In other words, for the metal fan this is a must have DVD.

You can get your copy of Earache 1986-2000 Immortalised from MVD.

I would tell you more, but the neighbors are banging on the door……..
