Delta Goodrem’s mother says that her daughter has just been released from an Irish hospital where she was taken with suspected appendicitis.

Late Sunday, Goodrem’s long-term partner and former Westlife member, Brian McFadden, rushed Delta to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, after she complained of stomach pains, an Irish Independent website reports.

Delta stayed at the hospital for tests for several days, but was released once the tests had finished.

“She went in with suspected appendicitis, and she’s been unwell and had some tests and she’s been released,” Ms Goodrem told AAP.

Leah Goodrem said that she was not worried about her daughter’s mystery stomach illness and that she knew it had nothing to do with the cancer, in which the singer battled as a teenager.

“Delta has been in hospital for a few days actually, so everyone’s behind the times … she was released a few hours ago.”

The Irish Independent website quoted one of Goodrem’s friends saying that Delta had undergone tests but that doctors were still unsure if her abdominal pain was related to her appendix. She also said that they have not operated on the young pop icon but alot of tests are taking place.

“It looks like it is more serious than the stomach bug they thought she had on Sunday night.”

McFadden cancelled a flight to London on Thursday, so that he could remain alongside of her dearly-loved partner. Goodrem and McFadden spent last Christmas with her family in Australia.
