As we watch Anthropogenic Global Warming slowly fail the test of reason and science, it’s becoming ever more humorous to watch the label of “denier” shift from those who are skeptical about AGW to those who religiously promote the concept and refuse … absolutely refuse, to even debate the gaping scientific holes emerging in AGW science.

The following are a few recent goodies. Consider them just a few of the thousand cuts:

First Off, an Oldie from Free Republic:

It’s hard to imagine any Canadian being unfamiliar with David Suzuki and his long career as an environmental activist. Indeed, Suzuki has, over the years, managed to parley worry about the environment into a multi-million dollar business, making him one of Canada’s great contemporary capitalists.

On Thursday (February 15), Suzuki was a guest on the John Oakley show on AM 640 in Toronto as part of his cross-Canada tour drumming up support for the Kyoto Protocol, (or more accurately, stirring up opposition to the federal Conservative Government for its environmental transgressions, real and imagined, specifically its apparent reticence in implementing the provisions of the treaty).

During the course of that interview, Suzuki makes a number of claims that are, shall we say, dubious …

How about getting so desperate, you lie to children about AGW:

getting so desperate, about AGW:

Robert Ferguson of the Science and Public Policy Institute published his findings
Thursday concerning a material error in “The Down-to-Earth Guide to Global Warming” which media seem destined to ignore for the benefit of the climate change movement (emphasis added throughout):

On page 18 of Laurie David’s new children’s global warming book, there is a glaring scientific error.

The day the Myth died:

When did the global warming hoax die? Historians are likely to pinpoint 2007. It will take another decade to insure it cannot be revived, but the avalanche of scientific studies and the cumulative impact of scientists who have publicly joined those who debunked the lies on which it has been based will be noted as the tipping point.

It took some forty years to unmask the Piltdown Man hoax that began in 1912 alleging that the skull of an ancient ancestor of man had been found in England. Any number of British anthropologists unwittingly contributed to the hoax by confirming the authenticity of the skull until it was found that the jaw of an orangutan had been cunningly attached. The unmasking of “global warming” has taken less than half that time.

When promoters turn to slurs instead of science, you’ve just discovered Snake Oil:

I have been collecting some of the insults levelled at AGW sceptics: cash-amplified flat-earth pseudo-scientists; the carbon cartel; villains; refuseniks lobby; polluters; a powerful and devious enemy; deniers; profligates; crank scientists. The list is endless. I remember the reaction of a Canadian scientist who dared to ask critical questions at a meeting on global warming. He was totally taken aback by the virulent reaction, “it was as if I was back in the Middle Ages and had denied the Virgin Birth”. A common slur is also that all sceptics are in the pockets of the oil industry.

Anthropogenic Global Warming: RIP

“Anthropogenic (man-made) global warming bites the dust,” declared astronomer Dr. Ian Wilson after reviewing a new study that has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Geophysical Research, authored by a Brookhaven National Lab scientist, Stephen Schwartz. A former Harvard physicist, Dr. Lubos Motl, said the new study has reduced global warming fear-mongers to “playing the children’s game to scare each other.”
