Media Research Center founder Brent Bozell finds it “a little strange to see Hillary appearing so upset over MSNBC reporter David Shuster suggesting that Chelsea Clinton was being “pimped out” by Hillary’s campaign.” What happened to the hapless Shuster next is what Jonah Goldberg once termed “political correctness Kabuki theater”:

So Shuster was substituting as host of Tucker Carlson’s show and used the P-word as he suggested to liberal radio host Bill Press that it was wrong for the Clinton campaign to have Chelsea call supporters but not grant reporters any access to her.

But once Hillary registered her displeasure, like an obedient liberal lapdog, MSNBC quickly began an apology tour. Shuster apologized the next morning on “Morning Joe.” He apologized again later that day on “Tucker.” Shuster was forced not only to apologize to Chelsea but to her parents. “I am particularly sorry that my language diminished the regard and respect she has earned from all of us and the respect her parents have earned in how they raised her.”

After all the slavish apologies, MSNBC still suspended Shuster indefinitely for the remark. …

Hillary sent a hectoring public letter to MSNBC complaining that Shuster had not been fired yet: “Nothing justifies the kind of debasing language that David Shuster used, and no temporary suspension or half-hearted apology is sufficient. Surely, you can do your jobs as journalists and commentators and still keep the discourse civil and appropriate.”

Calling the remark “idiotic and offensive,” Bozell nonetheless questions whether it merited suspension, seeing as how “our culture is so awash in prostitution lingo from hip-hop lyrics that this remark doesn’t have the shock value that it should.”

While Bozell’s point is well-taken, The Stiletto finds Hillary’s over-reaction more hypocritical than strange, considering that the offense to her 27-year old daughter was merely verbal. Hillary’s husband offended the daughters of other mothers by treating them as prostitutes.

Bill Clinton exposed himself to Paula Jones, then 25-years old, and asked her to give him oral sex. Bill Clinton received oral sex in the Oval Office from then 21-year old Monica Lewinsky, who was so young she thought they had a “relationship” and did not understand that she was merely servicing him. This is the same Bill Clinton who now tells talk radio host Chris Plante of WMAL, “I think it was inappropriate for him … to refer … to my daughter … in the way he did.”

As pundits have oft observed everything the Clintons say and do is calculated, and The Stiletto believes this manufactured outrage over a dopey off-the-cuff remark is meant to slap the liberal MSM around for shining a spotlight on the ugly race-based campaign tactics the Clintons were using against Barack Obama. The MSM had better pray fervently that Hillary never makes it to the White House, because payback is going to be a bitch.
