Child labor will be banned in India effective from October 10. India is one of those countries, which is believed to be employing a large number of children under the age of 14; an estimated 130 million children are currently working as child laborers in India. The ban will play an important role in controlling child labor in future, but the future of those children who are currently employed as child laborers, hangs in a balance. Many children who are working in industries are quite uncertain about their future, after this ban comes in to effect.


The Indian labor ministry had already issued a warning to all government employees that employees who are engaging child labor will come under stringent disciplinary action. In this vast country, issues like child torture and bonded labor are quite common.
