Recently I was a guest on a radio talk show about book reviewing. The subject of how do I select books to review came up, undoubtedly a major factor is in the short pitch put to me about the book. The same criteria applies to music, and who can resist a press release with the subtitle ‘The economy SUCKS. And the guy in these songs is pissed‘. Now thats what I call an attention getter!

For those of you not familiar with Jock Bartley he is the lead guitarist for the the 70’s rock band Firefall. Both songs come from his successful solo CD Blindside.

jock-guitar100_00221.jpgEconomy is indeed a very timely song, and through the use of some very witty lyrics Jock explains all that is wrong with our economy. It is also an incredibly infectious tune, I found myself replaying it over and over again! This is a song that if it could get some radio spins would be a sure fire hit with a very wide audience.

Jock Bartley seems to be suddenly in the spotlight with social conscience songs, this single follows close on the heels of the eco friendly Walk More Softly.

There are four bonus tracks making this CD exceptional value.

You can get your own copy of Economy from Winged Horse Records, or from Jock Bartley’s web site where incidently you can hear some MP3 samples of his work. Great music, great musician.
