Ok the simple answer is we do not have one. We will not be running our regular program about the Haleigh Cummings case on Sunday. I know that we have many loyal listeners that tune in to the program, but it is Easter, and Jan and I are going to be taking a break.
I am not a particularly religious person, I tend to go to church for one of three reasons, marriages, births and deaths.
My ex Grammar School English master put it so well. I had not seen this character in 30 years, in fact when I knew him I disliked him with a passion. It transpired that once the English Grammar School system crumbled, he decided to become a ‘man of the cloth’. When I returned to England I was amazed to discover that my nemesis from many years ago would be presiding over the funeral of my father.
I was asked about my religious life, and after some thought he said “Ah a Stalk em, breed em, slab em kind of a guy”.
Yup, this was the guy that I knew and loved as a teenager (not). However we had both aged, I was facing 40, he was in his 70’s.
We did not have long to talk, but it was an interesting 20 minutes. He spoke not of ripping books apart (his favorite subject when I knew him) rather about the frailty of life.
Easter is a happy occasion to many, Families celebrate with candy, chocolate, and other goodies. But Easter is not about that. Easter is a time when death rather than life is prominent.
Maybe I am wrong. I am often wrong! Christianity very much fused Pagan ways into their teachings. There were celebrations for every major event. The major ones revolved around the Solstice and Equinox events. Easter does not fit in exactly into this scheme, the date varies from year to year, yet there are so many accepted ‘facts’ we treat them with reverence.
Gardeners have grown their seeds, the small plants are kept safe from the elements, Easter marks the date that gardeners in most of the US will take those small precious plants and move them outside.
Easter marks a time of death and resurrection. Christians mourn the death of Christ, and rejoice in his rebirth. Even for people that are not of the religious persuasion, it is an important time. It marks when the dark days of winter are behind us, and summer approaches.
Both Jan and I wish everyone a Happy Easter.
Simon and Jan Barrett
A special note from Jan: I have to say Simon and I have a lot of differences in what we think of religion, but I am working on him, hoping I will succeed in getting him to change some of his thoughts. I don’t condemn him for the way he thinks because I firmly think that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I do want him to go to heaven with me when our time on earth is done, so I have to in good conscience try to work on him. To me Easter is a time to remind us of Jesus dying on the cross so our sins could be forgiven, which we call Good Friday and then to celebrate the joys of him rising from the dead three days after which is what we call Easter Sunday. I don’t agree that they keep changing the dates each year but the point is either way every year we are reminded of the sacrifice Jesus made for us. God Bless you all!

Happy Easter to all… here and there!
God Bless Y’all
Happy Easter Jan & Simon!
Enjoy the day off! No matter what your individual views are of religion and Easter, family is what is important! Enjoy the day together!
As always, praying for HaLeigh, her family & hoping for HaLeigh to have HER Easter miracle!
Happy Easter Simon & Jan….Thank you Simon for your honesty about this holiday. It is about death & re-birth with pagan influences mixed through-out. Life begins anew each year after the cold “death” of winter.
Happy Ostara! Happy Easter! Happy Spring!
Can hardly wait until Beltaine!!! Always a fun time! LOL!
Enjoy the day!
Hey everyone Art has 2 videos/one call that she made to her Mom…. I know people on here doesn’t like Art but you need to listen to this jail house call. She says Ron is going to testify on her behalf. BEWARE strong language.
Happy Easter, Jan and Simon!
Ky Mom – All these tapes are readily available at most of the Florida local news station websites which are also good sources of other information. For example, Hope Sykes’s phone call to her mom is on firstcoastnews.com

> Easter is a time when death rather than life
> is prominent.
Simon, you got the Easter holiday all wrong. 🙁
In both Pagan and Christian religions, Easter centers around rebirth and the renewal of life rather than death.
Christ Jesus died, but arose from the grave in three days thus symbolizing rebirth and the continuation of life even after death.
I suggest that you try reading an academic book on the theology of the New Testament. Theology was a required class for my B.A. college degree.
John Gohde, don’t you have anything else to do but be critical of everything Simon writes?
You obvioulsy must be interested in his articles since you seem to keep up quite well.
It appears everyone is ignoring you, as I probably should have. I just hate seeing you slam him every chance you get.
It would appear from your post that you are a christian. If so, that is not a very christian like thing to do, especially on Easter Sunday.
Anyway, I will wish you a blessed day along with everyone else.
SORRY, but spring / Easter is all about rebirth and the continuance of life rather than death.
I am too busy buying a new house to waste my time on a FREE blog. Of course those without a life, wouldn’t know this.
If you must know, I was writing about the concept of rebirth or what happens in the spring of each year on my money making NHP website. The connection to Simon’s post kept on haunting me. The best most effective way to STOP thinking about Simon’s @#$#%^* post was to post a comment. Should have known that some @#$%^%& would feel the need to dribble all over a purely academic & objective observation.
I have more brains in one of my pinkies then you got in your entire head. You know absolutely nothing about the religion that you pretend to know so much about.
Please go away John Gohde.
Folks, this isn’t the most Easter-y thing I’ve ever said but heck I’m human and I can’t resist the temptation:
Mr. Gohde, I truly hope your new home has a full deck.
John, your posts reflect your lack of intelligence. Your conceit is only surpassed by you self-centered ways. You sound like a self made man worshiping your creator.
Nothing you stated reflects the love of God. Your lack of humanity makes you no good to anyone. Knowledge of God without love is dead religion.
m2c, good one!!
You say you know about religion, but you obviously don’t practice it. Don’t pretend you know my knowledge of religion. You know nothing of the sort.
If you are so busy and so smart, why are you here leaving comments on a free site?
Brains? I think not so much.
Simon’s FREE site must peak your curiosity or you wouldn’t be here.
Must be rough to envy a man so much that has a free site. Since you are stalking Simon, you must know how many followers he has then.
Go back under your bridge troll. You have no powers here.
John Gohde:
You seem to have the concept of rebirth down without a true experience. One of the first things our Lord teaches is to do good unto all men. On this day we celebrate Christ arising from the dead, you are trying to tear down and destroy, as usual. Couldn’t you even respect Christ’s teaching on this wonderful day?
Karon, you are so right. The devil rears it’s ugly head in many forms. He came here today and unfortunatly a lot of us fell into his trap. Myself included. He got just what he wanted.
He say’s we don’t have a life, but obviously he is the one that doesn’t have a life. He’s here on a site that he quite clearly hates.
Let’s just ignore him. We made our point without getting as ugly as he did.
Now, I’m going to spend the afternoon with my family.
The rest of you, enjoy this beautiful day that we have been blessed with.
Not really wanting to get in this… but actually you guys didn’t “fall” for the “trap”! At least not in the “negative” sense!! What better way to honor our Lord… besides following his teaching… speak His name!! And you guys did/have, by defending!!
Easter on~~~~~~~
The following is all jmo in response to Simon’s comments regarding, “is a time when death rather than life is prominent.”
Life is about constant change.
Spring means the bringing forth of new life and the passing of the winter season. Everything in life is circular.
My following contribution to the thread is something that was told to me that has stuck with me in my own life. I mean no disrespect. The following is what I reflect upon often and I hope that this is recevied as peacefully:
“The problem with some is that they live as human beings who are trying to be spiritual, when in fact we are all spiritual beings who are trying to live as human beings.”
We are all an extention of our Creator.
Aho
~adovnvdo~
Happy spring everyone 🙂
~May little Haleigh be found soon and may whomever has caused her to disappear be held legally accountable, accordingly, by law.
The lack of humanity of the people here, without a name, with no lives, who are so full of themselves, carrying on private conversations going absolutely no nowhere, who couldn’t comprehend an academic comment if their life depended on it pretty much sums up this place. 🙁
Could be because YOU GUYS are just a bunch of illiterates, who do NOT even know it?
Message from Jan Barrett: BNN Editor
Mr Ghode must really love us here since he insists on returning knowing he is not wanted. I have banned every IP he uses yet he is so desperate to get in here. Well Mr Ghode I will continue banning you as long as you insist on wasting our time. Go back to your own site and say what you want there but don’t keep coming to ours and insulting our readers. They are more intelligent than someone like you. Your own comments explains that quite clearly. You can continue writing dirt about Simon and I all you want, if that is all you have to do in life, but We don’t need you here talking to our readers this way. Besides if you hate us so much why do you feel so drawn to us that you have to use a different IP to get around a ban. Sounds like a child playing games. Take your childish games somewhere else.
Hi, Mr. Gohde! Lonely again, I see. Well, it’s okay. You’re fairly assured of some attention when you come here I guess so I can’t blame you entirely. But I did think you had a new house, “money-making” work of some kind and generally much better things to do than bother with us “illiterates.” Which, by the way, means unable to read or write. So it’s kind of silly to write to us if you think we can’t read. Now perk up and go see how that new full deck is coming along.
m2c…Mr. Gohde’s house may have a full deck but obviously he isn’t playing with one. The thing that sticks out the most about Mr. Gohde’s posts is his proclaimed knowledge of religion vs. his obvious inability to put that knowledge into practice. But hey, I’m just an illiterate so what do I know?
A belated Happy Easter to Jan, Simon and my fellow illiterate bloggers. 😀
Hi Jan,
There will always be jealous people that are obsessed with others. Him calling us names is foolish and childish, and just shows his lack of maturity, yet he calls us names?
I hope you had a wonderful Easter with your family!
If he were a nice guy I would feel sorry for him. He seems obsessed with Simon, and no matter how hard he tries he can’t get anyone interested in his website. It’s a pretty extreme reaction for his jealousy over the hits you guys get here imo
Jan…YOU TELL HIM SISTER! GO JAN! GO JAN!
I promise not to keep this going, but Jan, I want to thank you for defending us. It would take much more than the likes of him to intimidate me. I do apologize because I think I’m the one that got it started. I hope you know I never come here to cause trouble. I’ve met a lot of great people here. It’s a great site and I for one want to keep it that way.
I just didn’t want to let him get by with slaming Simon again. He can voice his opinion of Simon all he wants, but do it on his own site. I certainly don’t want to hear his bullshit. Not much of a man in my opinion if he just wants to come to a website with the main goal to belittle people.
I’ll bet Simon was cracking up. I can just hear his laugh.
