Banned Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) top leader Shaikh Abdur Rahman was hanged by Bangladesh prison authorities in Comilla Prison, according to Channel I reports.

Shaikh Abdur Rahman and Siddiqul Islam were arrested in March 2006 for killing of two judges in November 2005, when a bomb was thrown at their car while it was going to the court.

Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai was also hanged to death by the prison authorities around the same time in Mymensingh prison on Thursday midnight, according to Channel I reports.

The grenade attack on the judges  was part of a series of bombings across the country that the authorities blamed on JMB.

Rahman and Islam were  accused in more than 20 cases, which left nearly 30 people dead.
