I have no verification that this is a true story, but I have heard so many similar tales that I have to share this one. The version that I have been told is that this receipt was found on the ground in the parking lot of a store in Menominee, Mi.

At first glance there seems little of interest. Personally I would have not bothered with the Mountain Dew. Lets face it, it is full of High Fructose Corn Syrup and artificial flavorings. It doesn’t matter how you slice it and dice it, $40 buys a decent amount of Budweiser. In fact here in Mississippi that would get you 35×24 ounce cans of 6% High Gravity Hurricane beer. It tastes better than Mountain Dew and has no HFCS in it. But of course what I say on the subject is a moot point. If someone likes Mountain Dew, more power to them.

Clearly they were setting up for a serious eating extravaganza. Six lobsters varying in price from $8.99 to $17.99.  Oh and lets face it, if you are going to have Lobster and Mountain Dew you do need to round the meal off with some steak. So lets put two Porterhouse Steaks in the mix, thats another $24.

What is wrong with this picture? Absolutely nothing. If you want to OD on Mountain Dew, Lobster, and Porterhouse Steaks, I say go for it.

But take a look at the store receipt. Read it carefully.

The payment method was ‘food stamps’.

I have no clue as to the real story, there may well be a valid explanation, in fact the entire thing may be a hoax. I will leave it up to the readers to make their own determination.
