At 4pm today BNN will once more be hitting the airwaves to discuss the latest events in the Casey Anthony Trial. And there are lots of things to talk about.
Friday afternoon the lights were on and the cameras rolling as Judge Perry heard yet another series of arguments in the case. Considering the clash of personalities between Jose Baez and Jeff Ashton it was a surprisingly ‘adult’ and well behaved hearing. One can only assume that Baez and Ashton have taken to heart Judge Perry’s ATM threat if they play the Terrible Two’s in his court room.
Saturday saw the airing of the CBS 48 Hours special on the Casey Anthony case. Looking online today, I think it is fair to say that the only news organization that seems to think this was a sensible, timely, or worthwhile project is CBS!
Jose Baez has mentioned in court a number of times that his client cannot get a fair trial because she has already deem tried and convicted by the press. Yet he and his team participated in this program! Go figure…
Todays panel will consist of Simon and Jan Barrett, crime writer Denny Griffin, Statement Analysis guru Peter Hyatt, Journalist Dave Knechel, and Recovery Agent William Cobra Staubs.
I know that everyone on the panel has much to say on the activities of the past two days. Did our eyes deceive us? Or was Casey smooching with Cheney Mason? What happened to the Mental Health experts? Can a panel of 20 people be found in a five day hunt? Those dang photo’s of Casey whooping it up knowing full well that her daughter was missing? And that was just Friday!
The 48 Hours debacle on Saturday raises another raft of ugly questions. Top of my list is the ethics involved. It seems to me that no one left that battlefield unscathed. CBS should be taken out back and beaten for putting the program on in the first place. With jury selection set to start in three weeks, this is the best way I can think of to taint a jury pool.
Worse still, no one seemed to come out on top from this special. Ex-defense attorney Linda Kenny Baden killed any chance of rehabilitating the Zanny The Nanny myth. Also Jose Baez once more forced himself into the dunces corner over the mysterious reason that his client did not report Caylee Anthony missing. It took 31 days and a call from Casey’s mother Cindy to report the child missing. Once again Jose Baez gave us the line that Casey Anthony had good reasons, and they would be explained at trial. I can hardly wait!
It seems to me at Jose Baez made a somewhat similar declaration late in 2009. By Feb/1 2010 he would produce compelling evidence of his clients innocence. That court deadline came and went, we are still waiting.
Please join us this afternoon for what should be a pretty lively discussion. To listen live you can use this link, or point your browser to www.blogtalkradio.com at 4pm eastern, you will find the link on the front page.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackThe way things have been going, I’ve seen for a long time now that somebody in the group is going to yell I Did It at the exact right time as was written in their predated 3 yr ago script and then the trial will go from mistrial, to insanity trial, to getting locked up for 2 yrs, come out and then write a series of books about the entire events in great detail.
Bet me.
This group is so celluloid, can see right through all of it.
I can’t help myself here. It was so disturbing to watch 48 hrs, last night, and all night I kept saying exactly what the above reporter posted. AMEN to you. I agree 100%. It was if my words were repeated on your report. I hope Baez suffers serious consequences for what he did. It should be considered a crime. A man who stood in front of a judge and cried a jury may be tainted due to publicity. And yet, he is the fall guy here. OMGosh!!!! What a disgrace.
After the 48 Hours show, Baez asking the judge to ban the media to protect his client’s constitutional rights is like the child who murdered his parents and asked for clemency because he is an orphan.
If Casey is so innocent then why have they left her in jail for so long and why has her attorney’s taken so long to have her trial.Baez wants the media blocked from the trial but he was on this 48hours show with the rest of the clowns. I personally think they should all be brought before the bar association. Also why didn’t the judge in this trial stop the show or was it kept that big a secret. Baez and mason jar and Kenny Baden all need to be brought before the judge. Oh yes I live on the west coast and I think Casey is guilty.
For a long time now I have kept my words and thoughts to myself on this subject. Can’t do it any longer, sorry. That story of Casey being innocent is getting sickening. If she is innocent according to Bozo, then what kind of attorney will let his innocent client sit in jail for this amount of time? He has nothing to clear her, this is something he came up with to create and maintain interest in this case. He is a loser, has no legal idea of the law, keeps whining his way through and that stupid smirk on his face makes me almost want to throw something at the T.V each time I see him. Casey pours herself all over the attorneys, they eat her up and she makes the world sick! Her mother is trying to keep her alive even though she killed her only grand child, her dad is mentally unwrapped and shows it. There was no such Zanny the Nanny. This has been a total joke to everyone but poor little Caylee who did not live to laugh another day. I do not care where you go, people have followed this story from day one so yes, they will have a hard time seating a full jury box. Just hang her at noon in front of the courthouse and be done with it all! I will even provide the rope and a shaky chair for her to stand on.
Hi, Simon & Jan!
Enjoyed the show! Great panel. I look forward to your “wrap” article!
I watched “48 Hours”, but I still do not like Jose Baez because he is still dishonest. I believe he and Mason have a very hard time what to believe her because she is a habitual liar!!!How can they know if it is true or not?? They should ask Jose Baez if he is in love with her. Casey thinks she can fool antyone but she cant fool God!!! She better tells the whole truth now before she goes to trial.
The statement that cindy anthony made on 48 hours, that CAYLEE was not just casey”s child, that she was also george”s cindy”s and lee”s child, she belongs to all of them.I believe that lee or george was the father of that preciuos little girl and that family is is not just protecting casey, but trying to protect there family.Come on,why is her name caylee–(casey) (lee) CAY-LEE. I know they did DNA on lee, but what about george, and why aren”t they ever in the court room. As far as the nanny, well how about (zanax) zanny the nanny. I believe casey drugged that poor little child, and george and lee found out,and with mixed emotions disposed of CAYLEE”S body. Just my opinion. I”ve watch this since day one
I have a question on the duct tape. Was the tape found just around Caylle’s skull or was it also found around her mouth? The reason i ask is because if the tape was around her mouth wouldn’t that have keep her jaw intact with her cheeks/skull?
Also they say there was No DNA evidence found on the tape. So imo no DNA on the tape means no tape on the mouth.
What i’m getting at is tape don’t deterriate as quick as human flesh and one would think that the adhesive would of held some kind of evidence.
I can see how this happened. It all started with Casey’s curiousness of her friend’s comment on cloroform. (The latin boy) . I think she tried it on her and it didn’t work as planned. I feel like Casey panicked. I mean how do you explain such a thing. She knew the autopsy would show it. So she though of this “kidnap” story. This happens all the time. We’ve all seen and heard how people are treated and disposed. That’s why she left the car . To seeif it would get stolen to cover the tracks.Maybe it was a accident like that. But it doesn’t justify the means. My heart will never forget Caylee Marie Anthony.
The tape had no DNA on it because it had been steeping for several months in water. The pieces of duct tape were not wrapped all the way around the skull but they were sufficiently long enough to hold the mandible in place despite the decomposition of all of Caley’s soft tissues. Remember, a child’s skull is quite small. She was only 2 1/2 years of age at the time of death.
I am starting to feel sorry for Casey Anthony, because of the poor defense she is going to have. These three “lawyers” are looking for their 25 minutes of fame, and they don’t give a cent for her future. She is guilty, and will be put to death, and there is nothing to do about that. I just feel that she could have signed a plea agreement and avoid the death penalty. There is no way to go around her guilt. Her parents are a pair of opportunists and they pretend to suffer for Caley, but they did not look for the little girl for almost a month, and that is a sin. They are all going to pay the price for this, but most of all, Casey Anthony does not seen to have a clue that these three clowns will take the whole family down. They will go to history as the worst attorneys in history!
Summer 201l should really be about spending time outdoors and not be about time spent indoors for additional TV drama about Casey Anthony.
Cooped up all winter from the cold and snow, I have become too obsessed with this case and as a result have not gotten enough vitamin D or exercise.
Too much lousy cold winter “Northern Exposure” weather the last six months here in the North Midwest has kept me glued to screens that have unfolded the soap opera of Casey Anthony.
I am so hooked on this case now that even during the warm days when I could be outdoors, I will instead be glued to the TV watching the Casey Anthony court room trial during the months of May,June, and even perhaps July.
I will be waiting for that Perry Mason moment when one of the Anthonys, most likely George will crack. While testifying for the prosecution, he will no longer tolerate being in denial and much to his relief and ours, finally confess to what he believes, and we know to be the truth about the death of his granddaughter, even if it means a conviction for his own daughter, leaving the jury with the truth, and Cindy and Casey in awe of a father and husband who dares speak the truth.
truseeker~
ITA,
I believe we will hear the truth out of George once and for all. I believe he is waiting for this trail so he can tell the truth,I don’t know what will happen to him after he does. if he suceed in killing himself, be commited or just disappear. I don’t see him with Cindy after he spills the truth.
