Woman Gives Birth Over Antlantic

A passenger caused yet more problems on another transatlantic flight from London to Boston but this time it’s not quite what you would expect. Shortly after the flight left for Boston the night of Saturday the 23rd a woman onboard the plane went into labor six weeks early and since the plane was over the ocean, it could not be diverted in time and the baby had to be delivered in midair by the cabin crew and two passengers who were believed to be medical students. The plane was diverted to Nova Scotia, Canada where the mother and baby were rushed to a medical facility. They are both reported to be doing fine. In a statement made by British Airlines, they say that they have a ban against women flying if they are more than 36 weeks pregnant and although their staff is trained in birthing procedures, it’s very rare.
