We Watch Too Much TV On average, an American household watches TV eight hours and 14 minutes, up three minutes from the previous year. Also, individual viewing went up 3 minutes to set a new record at four hours and 35 minutes. I would say that people should spend more time online learning new things instead of watching mind-numbing television, but knowing us, we'd spend time reading entertainment news blogs instead of something redeeming.
