Shootings At Duquense University May Have Been Over A Girl

I would appear as though the the shootings at a Duquense University dance hosted by the Black Student Union, in which 5 players of the men's basketball team were shot, was all over the girl. Brandon Baynes, 19, was arraigned on five counts of criminal intent at homicide. Prosecutors also filed charges of aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, and weapons counts against Baynes and William Holmes, 18. Holmes is still at large, and also has a reckless endangerment charge against him.

Also arrested was 19 year-old sophomore, Brittany Jones, who was actively involved in the Black Student Union. The charges against her incluce reckless endangerment, carrying a firearm without a license, and criminal conspiracy.

In interviews, several other players on the basketball team said that the shooter was unhappy that the woman he came with was talking to a player. A similar report offices a witnesses testimony that Jones hugged and flirted with several members of the basketball team, angering one of her male friends. Another witness at the dance reported hearing an argument outside of the dance and saw two men firing guns at the victims. Through drivers license photos, the witness was able to pick out Baynes.

The five injured players are Sam Ashaolu (who is the most seriously injured), Kojo Mensah, Stuard Baldonado, Shawn James, and Aaron Jackson.
