Shoko Asahara Death Sentence Upheld

Shoko Asahara has had his day in court and the Japan Supreme Court has upheld the original 2004 ruling that he is to be put to death. In 1995, Asahara masterminded the attacks on the Tokyo subway system in which members of his cult unleashed sarin nerve gas during the crowded rush hour. The attack led to the death of five people and over 5,000 others sick and in some cases, permanently disabled.
