Owens Did not Attempt Suicide ...Or So They Say The Dallas police chief David Kunkle said he has "great confidence in the original officer report" , which incidentally reported that when asked Owens himself admitted that he intended to harm himself. It also stated that rescue workers were called to the scene because of an attempted "suicide by prescription pain medication." Owens said Wednesday he mistakenly mixed the painkillers for a broken hand with supplements he ordinarily takes, causing him to become groggy.
