The Out-of-Town Scoreboard...Muslim Style

by Ric Ottaiano
September 19, 2006

OK, clash of civilizations fans, now that we’ve brought you up to date on the score of the Muslim-Israeli battle that has entered its ninth overtime, let’s turn to our out-of-town scoreboard, brought to you by Jihadi Flakes-The Breakfast of Martyrs:

1. In the Muslim-Christian battle in Indonesia, the home team is stepping up its attack against a tiring Christian defense and has 40% of the Muslim population supporting violence against “blasphemers” of Islam;

2. In Nigeria, the Muslim side has managed to maintain a sustained ground game against their Christian opponents. In fact, the Muslims have been able to remain on offense for going on seven years now and looks like they’re getting the upper hand in this contest;

3. At half-time in Darfur, the pro-goverment Arab-Muslim militia has taken a big lead over the majority Christian black Africans and seem confident of victory. So confident, in fact, that they have refused to allow substitute U.N. players onto the pitch and the referees are reluctant to take action;

4. In the Chechenyan League, Commisioner Putin continues in his efforts to bring to a close the competition between the Muslims, who wish to start their own league and the Russians who are unwilling to see their long-time league member move on;

5. Fascinating developments in the Indian Sub-Continent Division where the Muslims of Pakistan continue in their epic battle with the Hindus of India. Both sides are long-time and bitter rivals who have faced off countless times over the last several centuries beginning with the classic year 600 Rumble in Punjab. They have since moved the match to the newer Kashmir Arena, but the intensity remains. The outcome of this match is still hard to predict with both sides still very much in it;

6. Finally, in the South East Asian League, the Muslim squad has, through recent trades with the all of a sudden disappointing al-Qaedas of the Middle Eastern League, definitely improved its personnel and figures to score big against the Buddhists of Thailand in their upcoming match.

Well, that’s it for the out of town score update. We’ll be back at 11:00 p.m. right after Today’s Beheadings with Achmed Atta so don’t touch that dial and remember, with a name like the “Religion of Peace”, it’s gotta be good.
